Who We Are

Everest is governed by the Board of Directors of the Summit Institute, a non-profit organization designed to:

  • train, consult and advise California public school teachers and administrators
  • provide support and administrative services to California public schools
  • manage, operate, guide, direct and promote one or more California public charter schools.

The day-to-day management of Everest is done by the Executive Director, and overseen by a governance council, whose chairperson is a member of the Summit Institute Board.

Everest Governance Council Members:

Governance Council Chairman: Blake Warner

Mr. Warner founded Silicon Valley Partners in 2009 with more than 16 years of investment banking experience, advising media and technology companies. Prior to founding Silicon Valley Partners, Mr. Warner was a Managing Director and Co-head of the Software, Media and Telecommunications group at Thomas Weisel Partners, a San Francisco-based investment bank specializing in growth companies. Prior to joining TWP, Mr. Warner spent five years at Bank of America specializing in structured finance in the Entertainment, Media & Gaming practice.

Mr. Warner earned his Masters of Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Business Economics and Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He serves as the Chairman of the Governance Council for Everest Public High School and as a Board Member of Summit Public Schools in Redwood City, California, an educational non-profit organization.

Governance Council Member: Robyn Yilmaz

Ms. Yilmaz brings public and private sector business and management experience combined with teaching and school operations knowledge. She is currently working at FaceBook in the Human Resources (People) group. Previously she worked at Google as a manager of teams that serve Google's advertisers.

She was the founding Chief Operations Officer for Summit Preparatory High School, working to successfully establish the entire “back end” of the school. During her three years of service with the school she was responsible for the finances and budget, purchasing, technology implementation and maintenance, human resources, facilities, contracts, and mentoring of students.

Robyn holds an MBA from Stanford and a BA in Computer Science from Harvard.

Governance Council Member: Lisa Shupp Mules

Lisa provides private sector business and management experience combined with prior school board leadership. She is currently a Human Resources manager for Agilent Technologies where she works with the central research laboratory, corporate human resources and legal organizations.

SPrior to her role at Agilent, Lisa worked for Hewlett Packard Company in a variety of HR, and manufacturing management roles, and was the president of the board of trustees of the Charles Armstrong School in Belmont, California. She holds an MA in Organizational Communication and Public Relations and a BS in Marketing from the University of Delaware.
